According to Yibada, among the Motorola smartphones that are being moved on to Android 5.1 Lollipop is the Motorola Moto G 2nd generation or the Motorola Moto G2, along with five other Motorola Moto devices including its predecessor, the Motorola Moto G, the Moto X 1st and 2nd Generation, and the Moto E 2nd Generation 4G LTE version. Except for Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen which was updated from Android 4.4 KitKat to Android Lollipop 5.0 before this update, all other Motorola phones will be getting Android 5.1 Lollipop directly from KitKat version. The update brings a much-improved camera and a larger screen for Moto G 2nd Generation. While Android 5.1 Lollipop is a biggish update, it returns the silent mode missing that went missing in Android 5.0, improves system stability, offers better RAM battery management, and fixes sudden app closures, Wi-Fi problems and sound problems”. Other than that, the update comes with the standard bug fixes and security enhancements. The Android 5.1 Lollipop update on the Motorola Moto smartphones also includes native support for more those versions which have more than one SIM-card smartphone. The user can also join Wi-Fi networks and control paired Bluetooth devices directly from the Quick Settings section of the notification bar. Since the updates will come over-the-air (OTA), owners of these Motorola Moto smartphones should regularly check the settings of their handsets to see if the system updates are already available for download. Be sure to use only Wi-Fi for updating your Moto smartphones. Update : Many of our readers have asked us about the ETA of the update through comments and on our Facebook page. We would like to let you know that currently, the first and second generations of Moto X and Moto G recently received the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS in the United States.
